Perspective and calm is a main theme. Beautiful negative shapes are created in the sky between the trees and behind the buildings. Colour is soft and gentle with earthy brown tones and warm greens. Pattern is created by repetitive vertical lines leading ones eye into the painting, horizontal lines in the front area to the right of the painting, and angled lines in the middle of the painting. Beautiful shadows further create a wonderful pattern in the foreground.
